Rated for 35W. This antenna has a SWR of 1.5 or lower across the 2 meter band and works well on the 70cm band also. Now to be honest I use what I believe to work the best for what this antenna is designed to be all the way around. Small,Portable,Lightweight and VERY VERY effective but RG-174 is a lossy coax by nature and on my basic model antenna at 5 feet of coax there is really no loss to speak of but just 0.5db but on the deluxe model with 10 feet the loss is still only about 1.0db at 145mhz.
Trust me when I tell you that The 6db of gain you get with this antenna over a typical 5/8 wave antenna more than makes up for the 1db loss in the coax.
Here is why, A Slim Jim antenna is basically similar to a Jpole design, but it exhibits a lower radiation angle in the range of 8-10 degrees on the horizon, compared to 1/2 wave Jpole which exhibits a 20-30 degree angle on the horizon. (ie. more gain) Some have suggested these Slim Jim work better than a 5/8 wave antenna.
